Creating content without having a plan to promote it aggressively is a content marketing sin.
If you think readers will turn up and consume your content just because you have created amazing content, you’re wrong. My friend, many content marketing campaigns fail in the absence of an aggressive content promotion plan.
The Internet is crowded with content, so you need to reach out to your audience to maximize the success of your content marketing efforts.
In today’s article, I’m going to discuss 45+ proven content marketing tips that can help you promote your content like crazy.
Without further ado, let’s dive in:
Proven Content Promotion Tips
1- Tweet bite-sized content from your article along with the link. Your tweets should include interesting quotes, facts & figures from the article or knowledge nuggets to arouse curiosity among the users.
2- Tweet a question that you’ve answered in your blog post. This can encourage your followers to click on the content link to find the answer.
3- Bold out several tweetable sentences within your article or highlight them as quotes. Put “Click to Tweet” buttons around them, facilitating your followers to share the text snippets as tweets.
4- While tweeting, mention people you’ve quoted in your article to grab their attention. They will, in most cases, retweet it.
5- Schedule 4-5 tweets for the week, to be sent during the morning hours or night. People are most active during those times and are more likely to see your content. Add images to attract eyeballs.
6- Pick the best performing tweet (with a link to your content) and pin it to the top of your profile to gain more traction. A pinned tweet is the first tweet people see when they visit your profile.
7- Create an appealing text snippet ( with a link to the content) and share it on Facebook. You should put facts and catchy questions that can drive your followers to the content. Also, ensure that the blog image is visible to boost engagement.

9- List the major insights or points you’ve included in your article and outline a summary. Use this summary to create a social media video (less than 2 minutes long) to attract more people.

11- Share the link to your content in relevant groups on LinkedIn and Facebook where you actively participate and engage with others. Also, tag people who might find the content valuable.
12- Distribute your content to your internal network of friends in a WhatsApp group sharing a similar interest or your team members on Slack. Ask them to share the content with others who will find the content useful.
13- Share the content on Reddit. You should spend some time to find the right subreddits and the active Redditors. Create a post to initiate a conversation and drop the link to your article if the subreddit allows.

When you upload video content to YouTube, add the links to the content in the description. Also, don’t forget to tell your viewers to check those links in the end of your videos.
21- Design simple, but visually appealing PowerPoint slides and add them to SlideShare. But don’t forget to include a link to the original content in the slide and description, to get visitors to your site.
22- Create an insightful infographic from your published article and upload it to infographics submission websites like Visually. You can put a link to the original content in the description and pull the viewers to your site.
23- After about a week of publishing the content on your website, republish it as a LinkedIn article. Also, tweak the text and visuals a little, and add a link to the original content at the end. Here are some tips to optimize your LinkedIn profile to boost the success of content promotion on LinkedIn.
24- Similar to LinkedIn, syndicate your content on Medium. But don’t forget to link to the original content.
25- Promote it on content discovery and advertising platforms like Outbrain and Taboola. They personalize content delivery as per the users’ preferences and help you reach your target audience.
